Landscapes of the Pink Granite Coast
Sublime and eternal, the "Pink Granite Coast" is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Brittany, and even France. Discover a region that never changes, but always surprises !
In the north of Brittany, in the country of Tregor Goëlo, the "Pink Granite Coast" is named after the coastal landscapes composed of granite, current in the Armorican land but which here has the peculiarity of being pink or even red.
This rock takes its unique color combination of three distinct minerals in the granite: feldspar, which gives it its pink color, mica, and quartz.
These igneous rocks dating from there 300 million years were identified by millennia of erosion.
It's totally UNIQUE in France and - around the world - there are hardly pink granites in China or Egypt.
Thus, north of Lannion, a peninsula with barely ten kilometers, is a protected natural site of exceptional beauty, spread over 4 towns: Perros-Guirec (with Great Site of Ploumanac'h), Trégastel, Pleumeur-Bodou, and Trébeurden.
The uniqueness and beauty of the coastal scenery of the Pink Granite Coast, make it a lively tourist area pleasant to live and learn, but mostly unspoilt paradise for walkers and hikers, as well as couples and families wishing to take a true "fresh air".
