A stop for a delicious tasting of local products at La Maison de l'Estuaire de Traou-Nez (scene of the famous Seznec Affair) and a relaxing boat trip in Pontrieux. The unique charm of the travels of yesteryear : the steam train will be back to tow our six period carriages, enabling you to discover landscapes only accessible by train. It's spectacular !
Once you reach Paimpol station, you'll quickly discover your transport for the day : your very own steam train. It's there waiting for you under the watchul eye of its mechanic. That unique smell, those wooden seats, that plume of smoke : there's no doubt about it : here you are ! Three whistles : the train is leaving !
Our hostesses are dressed in period costume ! Listen to them telling stories and anecdotes about the region.
Paimpol : this old shipping port, which was once used for Icelandic fisching excursions and has been immortalised by Pierre Loti in "The Iceland Fishermen", offers you its lively setting, its beautiful 16th-century dwellings, and its typically Breton atmosphere.
La Maison de l'Estuaire : Scene of the famous Seznec affair, this haven of peace is an exhibition site located on the banks of the Trieux. You'll stop here for a testing of local products. with a stop for a gourmet tasting in the forest
The Castle of La Roche-Jagu : this 15th-century chateau is located in the midst of a park with a decidedly medieval flavour, over-looking the Trieux. From the railroad line set high up above the estuary, you'll have a unique view of the chateau.
Pontrieux : This charming little city has a lot of character. You'll fall in love with its washhouses, its half-timbered of freestone houses, and its typical Breton feel at the far end of the estuary. Of course, who can forget one of the city's most beautiful jewels ; the Eiffel Tower !
Horse-drawn carriage and small boat rides available. A large number of restaurant and snack facilities.
